Director of ONElife Kids
Responsible to (Answers to):
Elders (one representing elder will be assigned to you)
The WHY:
To evangelize and disciple the children of ONElife Church.
Core Values of a Kingdom Worker at ONElife Church
- Jesus is your boss. Someone has been assigned to be responsible for you and provide oversight; however, this person is not your boss. Jesus is! The thing about this is that He is always watching and He knows all of the motives of your heart. He is the one that will promote or demote you. Work every minute knowing that you are working for Jesus.
- Do whatever it takes. You will quickly notice that we are not filled with lengthy technical job descriptions. Your job is to do whatever it takes to get the job done and to further the mission of expanding the Kingdom. Don’t ever utter the words, “that is not my job.” Be flexible and do whatever it takes to get the job done. If you are the type of person that needs a list of “to do” items given to you from the person above you then this might not be a good fit for you.
- Equip others. We are all about equipping others to do the work of leading people to salvation. Look for every opportunity to equip others and to replace yourself. There are over 750,000 people in our region that don’t know Jesus. There is a lot of room for more Kingdom leaders. Have the heart of an equipper. There are no superstars on this team. God is the superstar and we are simply the instruments He chooses to use.
- Know the WHY. Know WHY you are serving as part of this team. Don’t obsess with the HOW. We intentionally don’t obsess over the how as we know people who know WHY figure out HOW to do something. You will be provided with the general guidelines of your duties, but spend time knowing that you are to lead people to Jesus and expand the Kingdom. "If you want to build a ship, don't summon people to buy wood, prepare tools, distribute jobs, and organize the work, rather teach people the yearning for the wide, boundless ocean” (Antoine de Saint-Exupery). You must fall in love with the ocean and equip others to do the same.
- Be teachable. You don’t know everything about the job that you are doing. There are others more experienced. Ask them for help. Ask them for advice. Ask them questions. There is no room for “experts” on our team. All of us have more to learn and must maintain a teachable attitude.
- Be a team player. There is no room for egos on this team. Some may get a promotion and you may not. Some may witness more souls saved. Some may get asked to speak and to do other things that you don’t. It doesn't matter. We are a team and one person's activity is a blessing for the team. Don’t spend your time comparing yourself to others on the team. Fulfill your role and encourage them!
- Give away leadership and authority. All authority on heaven and on earth has been given to Jesus Christ (Matt. 28:16). Jesus has a monopoly on authority. He has then extended authority to us. Authority and leadership is not ours to hold onto but to giveaway. Don’t bottleneck a leader below you or a leader above you. This is a culture of trust in which we trust one another to do our best to lead and serve others.
Some Requirements:
- Calling. Our commitment is to partner with the person that God has called to this role. Have you received confirmation from the Bible and mature believers that you are called to this role?
- Compassion. Our commitment is to partner with the person that has compassion for young children and young families. Have you already been pouring into young children and families with a burden to see them come to faith and grow in their relationship with Jesus?
- Competency. Our commitment is to partner with the person that has competency in this area. Do you have training and or experience working in a similar role?
Tasks:
- Oversee, assimilate, and train all ONElife Kids teachers, preachers, and assistants.
- Oversee the check-in and security processes for ONElife Kids.
- Oversee and communicate the schedule for ONElife Kids.
- Put together the order of service and communicate it with the team on a weekly basis.
- Attend the weekly staff meeting.
